Meet Dr. Elise in
Sherbourne Animal Hospital
Dr. Elise D’Arcy
For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about helping animals. I was born and raised in New Brunswick, with many family pets.
After high school I moved to Montreal to study sciences at McGill University, with plans to study medicine in the future. It was there that I realized that veterinary medicine combined my interest in health sciences with my love of animals. I was accepted into the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the University of Prince Edward Island, where I fell in love with working with small animals. After becoming a veterinarian, I completed a one year internship in small animal medicine and surgery, at a busy emergency and referral centre in New York City. This was an incredible experience and an opportunity to extend my formal training. After the internship, I decided to come back to Canada to work in small animal general practice. I am excited to join the team at Sherbourne Animal Hospital!
In my spare time, I enjoy running and outdoor activities with my rescue dog, Woody. Volunteering my veterinary services to non-profit organizations is also very important to me. So far, I have done volunteer work in Central America with World Vets and VIDA. I hope to also get involved with organizations in Toronto.
